Hello February, it's Me

Tuesday, February 16, 2016

Let's jump right in, why don't we? It's already February, which is crazy, but it's slowly crawling by and I'm oddly fine with it. After a warm Christmas season, I'm trying to cling to the cold weather as much as I can and wear all the layers until the air becomes too thick with humidity and I want to claw my clothing off (not in public obviously).
I don't really have a way to define my plan for 2016 yet except to do things I really want to do and take a trip or two sometime this year. Everything else will happen as it comes, because that's really how I live. For now, while watching Kardashian reruns like it's my job, I've been thoroughly enjoying Youtube videos too from my favorites like Zoella, Lily Pebbles, and Tanya Burr. It gets to the point where I'm living through Alfie Deyes'  aka Pointlessblog vlogs as a source of entertainment when putting my makeup on. Along with these two television/video things, I started rewatching Gilmore Girls on the side since it's now on Netflix and all my friends seem to be back into it. I mean, I didn't just wake up with my dry humor, I attribute a lot of it to Lorelai Gilmore. And my coffee addiction that is only strengthen by her similar coffee habits.

Makeup wise, the best part really, I got the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit for Christmas and when I'm not using it as my mirror to do my makeup in, I am loving Dim Light, the lightest shade in the palette and I usually swipe it across my face to set things or as a natural highlight on my cheekbones. I'm always going to be a highlight kind of girl, sorry to all four or five of my blushers that live next door to them.

I rediscovered my love for my Naked palettes since I neglected them for a while because I was just over the hype surrounding them but I take it all back now. Naked 1 is my trusty go to with Naked and Buck always there for me as a neutral base but Naked 2 is taking the cake right now with Suspect, a shimmery golden brown that's a lot lighter on than in the pan. With Suspect, I love Snakebite which reminds me of Smog in Naked 1 but it's a bit darker with the same shimmer. I've started using my Burberry Fresh Glow Foundation in Ochre again with the help of my beauty blender.

Then there's candles! All the candles, I can't imagine not having them in my room and making things smell nice and fresh every night. I really love the earthy scents like pine trees and amber that remind me of nature without actually going into the nature. I treated myself to two of the holiday scents from Diptyque, Sapin and Liquidambar, and I feel so fancy and my room smells delightful when they're lit. They're completely worth the investment and have lasted me over two months now. But I also love the baking scented ones like the Creme Brûlée that my best friend gave me over the holidays and Sweet Vanilla Cinnamon is another favorite, both from Anthropologie.

Fingers crossed I can keep this blog up again this year. I'm off to a good start already with my skin care post that's coming probably right after I post this. So stick around and bare with me through this new year.
