Just Peachy!

Too Faced did that again with another stellar and deliciously smelling collection, exclusive to Sephora. Peaches are here to stay, much to my happiness, with a new collection featuring Peach Essence and Sweet Fig Cream. This whole collection celebrates the embodiment of a peach and also the comfort matte look of the exterior of the beloved sweet summer fruit. Writing that sentence almost made me wish it was July again and I was eating a juicy peach. Sigh.
This collection's been out for a while now and I've had my hands on it plenty of times, but only recently was I lucky enough to try out the Peach Perfect Comfort Matte foundation on my own. It's medium coverage and matte on a real level that needs to be experienced to really believe it.

I'm still not a big matte fan. Like, I'd rather glow until the day is done which is why glowy primers exist. I've been a die hard Lancome Teint Idole for a long time now but that's because it looks like skin and not a flat matte on my face. So, I was happy to give this new foundation a go from Too Faced and really experience it.

It boasts some great bits like the 14-hour wear, an oil-free formulation, and even photo friendly (meaning no white flashback in photos–Jerrod Blandino you saint). It's supposed to give you a soft matte-like finish (that could be compared to Fenty that also claims it's a soft matte) but to me, it's a true matte foundation. I've only used it with a brush, either Real Techniques Buffing brush or Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face brush, and I feel like it works really quickly to spread and dry. There's not much flexibility with this one. Once it's in place it doesn't move.

With being more of a matte-finish and feel, I feel like my skin really needs to be hydrated underneath before application. I always use my Ole Henriksen Oil Control Hydrator as a moisturizer and for primer I bounce between Too Faced's own Hangover (my pride and joy for two years) or Smashbox's new Primerizer (hylaronic acid in a primer? Yes please). Both are super lightweight and have just the right amount of hydration for my combination skin. They also make for a smooth, hydrated base for the Peach Perfect foundation to glide across.

I’m currently wearing the shade in Nude, which could be a color for when I'm a bit tanner but it's still working right now too. If I went any shade lighter, I'd really have to bust out the bronzer. I'm pretty happy with the finish at the end  of the day and it really does hold up, which earns the rights to that 14-hour wear promise.

At some point I'm going to try it with a makeup sponge once I get around to buying one!

Have you tried this foundation or anything else from the new Peach collection? The OG Sweet Peach collection is bomb too, especially the eyeshadow palette. What else do you love from Too Faced?
