Beauty & Skincare Haul | September 2019

Sunday, October 6, 2019

Sooo apparently I've gotten the spending bug again when it comes to new makeup and skincare and I just can't stop. After several internal arguments that go something like this:

Me: Buy it. You deserve it.

Also me: You need nothing.

Me: But what about [insert X, Y, and Z things]

I end up buying the things! I don't buy a lot of beauty products anymore because I've been so lucky to get so much stuff at my job but I'm still a girl who loves beauty and is also worried about not renewing her Rouge status for the third year in a row. I thought I'd pop a round up of some new things I've acquired in the last month here for your enjoyment (and mine).

Colourpop- Creme Gel Eye Colours in Prance & Cry Baby, pressed powder shadow in The Aquarius, Creme Gel Liner in Mr. Bing, and Baby Got Peach Eyeshadow Palette.

This haul is because of Mariah Leonard. She got me with the Creme Gel Colours in this video because I'd been searching for a lilac purple to blend all over my eye for ages. I didn't have a brown eyeliner pencil before so Mr. Bing was perfect, you know, like Chandler. I got The Aquarius not because I am one but because I didn't own anything like this before. Mariah got me again with this video where I'm pretty sure I had a moment where I was like, "I have to have that right now," when she used the Baby Got Peach palette. Actual matte peach tones with some of the prettiest glitters I've ever seen? Sign me up.

With Colourpop, ordering extra things doesn't hurt as much as a Sephora order does because of the low prices but you still get great quality.

Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette of Pops in Pillowtalk- This is one of the prettiest things I own now!! I love it as much as I love my Exaggereyes eye quad. They're definitely two of the best purchases I've ever made. I usually contour out my eye with Exaggereyes and then pop and blend the pop shades all over my eyes from the Pop quad. I've already gotten a lot of wear out of the Pop quad because it's perfect.

Too Faced Natural Face Palette- This one was a right place right time which means I had to order it on Sephora dot com because a hurricane prevented me from getting it in store. I was so excited to finally have this, once it showed up post-Dorian. I won't go into the shades and such but just know I love the blush selections in here, the highlighters are poppin', and the bronzer is just like every other one I own. It also smells like chocolate and coconuts.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Chaos- Another right place right time and this was also ordered online 'cos it wasn't in store. Aside from the giant Sephora box it came in, I didn't have an electric blue eyeliner before this one. I've always wanted this one from Marc Jacobs but when Urban Decay's were on the 21 Days of Beauty at work, it became a great dupe!

Peach & Lily Super Reboot Resurfacing Mask- y'all I've wanted this mask for aaaaaages. It's the higher powered version of my favorite masks and it really, really works on discoloration. Even Nam Vo uses it. Just know it's from a K Beauty brand and it's the prettiest aqua blue/teal hybrid mask you've ever seen.

The Ordinary Niacinamide & Zinc serum- My friend Indi swears by this and has been through numerous bottles. I finally made the tiny investment in this after her recommendation because it helps clear up spots and fade discoloration over time. It's similar to my favorite UFO oil but with different base ingredients. I've been using it at night between my retinol to help clear up acne scars and I've been impressed! I wouldn't recommend during the day because I feel like it wouldn't be makeup friendly.

Kylie Skin Foaming Face Wash- This was the only product of Kylie's I was interested in trying because I always choose a cleanser first when trying a new brand. I also loooove a foaming cleanser. After Caroline approved it, I knew it was safe for me to spend my dollars on. However, I had to wait until it went into Ulta stores 'cos I wasn't giving Kylie Jenner my $9 for shipping or whatever ridiculous cost it was. So instead, I popped into Ulta before class one day and picked this up. It's easy to say I've fallen in love with the rich foam of this cleanser and how soft my face feels afterwards. Look out for a thorough post v soon.

Lol so yeah I bought alot of things during the month of September but #noregrets. I also forgot to mention this Wet n' Wild palette (I know, hold your horses) that I bought after watching Allana turn herself into a pumpkin spice latte. I've already recreated this look a handful of times since this video and HUNTING DOWN this palette. A little five dollar palette should be easier to find than it really was.
