NARS Laced with Edge

Thursday, December 18, 2014

The holiday season seems to bring in loads of beautifully made limited edition packages from everyone’s favorite brands. They fill the stores’ shelves and twinkle at shoppers, waiting to be taken home and placed under the tree.

The first holiday collection that caught my eye was the NARS Laced with Edge collection. After stalking the NARS website and looking again and again at them on NARS’ Instagram, two products are now part of my collection. You could call me a proper Narcissist and I wouldn’t even try to deny it.

With my brown eyes and brown hair, I gravitate towards the neutrals and even the dark greens for my eyes. Classified as a bronze green, the Gabon Eyeshadow is one of the most beautiful shadows I’ve ever seen, and it’s perfect for the darker, colder months. NARS eye shadows can be worn wet or dry but I have only experienced it dry on my lids. It goes on lighter than I expected but I loved the finished look. This color would be a great alternative for a smoky eye if the dark green suits your skin tone.

Being me and having to add to my ever-growing nail polish collection, I had to put a nail polish from the Laced with Edge collection in my cart. I’ve been feeling the pink shades recently, which almost never happens, so I selected Sherwood. A metallic pink-violet shade, it goes on a lot lighter than I hoped and expected. It is almost like a flat neutral pink with not enough shimmer for my taste. It is still pretty for the holiday season but didn’t quite hit the mark for me.

Everything in this collection is quite beautiful, but the packaging really seals the deal. Unfortunately this holiday collection is only available at Nordstrom stores and on the NARS website, I was quite disappointed Sephora didn’t receive it. NARS has a great selection of gifts perfect for anyone, available at Nordstrom, or anywhere NARS is sold.
