The Chanel Foundation I've Been Waiting For

Friday, April 22, 2016

In the world of foundations, Chanel can do no wrong with each beauty in a bottle that they come up with. The Vitalumière Aqua is my favorite of all time, with its water base that just seems to glide across my skin. It keeps things simple with light-medium coverage that stays in place and looking flawless all day and night. 22 Beige Rosé is a perfect match for me, even in the summer I just layered some Nars Laguna over it to bring everything up to one shade. I've tried the Velvet version of it as well and if I was looking for something more matte, I'd go with the Velvet. Last summer I swore by Les Beiges All-in-One Healthy Glow Fluid in No 20 that I can't seem to find online anymore. It was my go to foundation all summer for something made for the heat and long days while still giving good coverage. Hopefully this isn't the last we've seen of it but maybe this new foundation is it's replacement? Who knows but let's get cracking on this new Les Beiges addition to the family.

New in the Les Beiges family is the Healthy Glow Foundation with SPF 25 worked into the formula. So I can already see where it did replace my above mentioned summer foundation with the sunscreen added back in. I first tried a sample of this in No. 20 to test the waters and honestly, it was love at first brush swipe. Forgive me for the cheesiness but I just can't help it, this foundation is that amazing. I used my Sephora Pro Airbrush Blender since that's what I typically use to apply my Vitalumière Aqua. The foundation went on pretty smooth, covering my face in just a few swipes. I did have to go back and focus on the area where my cheeks and nose meet to smooth everything out.

I wore it to work and it was like magic. Honestly I don't usually get compliments on my makeup but with wearing this foundation, I got four compliments in a span of my six hour shift. It made my day and my decision to go back that afternoon and buy the real deal. I don't know where the magic happened and maybe bringing back out my Too Faced Hangover Primer helped set things in place, but this foundation made my skin look amazing and maybe like I had a summer glow.

Coverage wise it feels more like a full coverage foundation with a lightweight feel. It keeps everything smooth and flaw free, because who doesn't want that? Call it the Beyoncé Summer foundation if you like, because who doesn't want to feel like Beyoncé? She wrote flawless for a reason people. It also comes with a pump under that infamous logo cap so you can keep everything controlled when ready to apply.
