Shani Darden Retinol Reform (& Other Things to Know)

Saturday, June 11, 2022

Retinol is probably one of the scariest items on the market. It continues to terrify women and put them off from the advantages of using it. But like everything that seems scary at first, women grow to love it and cherish the results it brings to their skin over time. Shani Darden’s is no exception. It may even be the best one I’ve used.

I’d like to think I’m in the prime age of using retinol. I make it a habit that I won’t quit until I’m dead in the ground (dramatic, yes I know). I’ve used a few in the past… Sunday Riley Luna Night Oil, Sunday Riley A+ Retinol (a few of these), and the Drunk Elephant A-Passioni Retinol cream. None of them have outdone Shani Darden’s.

Retinol Reform goes to work via an encapsulated retinol molecule which means it works gradually overtime and lessens the chance of irritation. Because of this feature, I can use the retinol nightly without drying out my skin. After using this consistently, my skin looks clearer and smoother. Any leftover marks from spot or discoloration are faded and have disappeared.

If you decide to invest in this, I’d recommend starting it two to three nights a week. Using it one night a week won’t guarantee results just like running once a week won’t make you a marathon runner. You can also alternate it each night with any salicylic acid serums, lactic/glycolic acid serums, peptide serums, you name it. But I wouldn’t use the retinol the same night you do an acid mask or peel. Take it easy there partner.

Retinol isn’t scary. It’s just a new area of skincare that we all benefit from learning about. Your skin will thank you too.
