Charlotte Tilbury

Friday, July 27, 2018

Honestly this should be a post that I was able to crank out in five seconds because of how much I love and live for Charlotte Tilbury and everything she does. But instead, it’s taken entirely too long because how do you sum up some of your favorite makeup items of all time in one blog post? Well, let’s find out how I do such a thing...now.

Luxury Palette in The Golden Goddess

The Dolce Vita was my first every CT purchase, and I still love it like a first child, but it’s not the one I grab every few days. Nope, I reach for The Golden Goddess for work days where I still want a nice, every day eye with a little pop! It might not look like anything special but once I contour out my eye first with the Enhance shade, layer and blend the Smoke shade, and Pop the sparkly shadow topped over it, I’m in love.

Quality wise, they’re not the softest shadows but they have little to no fall out which is fab for no clean up. The Pop shade that comes in every shadow quad is unlike anything I’ve ever touched. It’s glitter, shimmer, and glow all in one with a texture that doesn’t feel gritty or like a cream shadow at all.

Experience for yourself and fall in love, it’s not hard. Next on my list? The Vintage Vamp

Filmstar Bronze & Glow in Light to Medium

Y’all. Y’aaaaalllll. There are very few things in this world that make me happier than a child on Christmas morning and this is one of them. Seriously, I’m not joking when I went to California in 2015 (more about that here), I saw my first ever Charlotte Tilbury counter at Nordstrom at The Grove. The heavens I swear opened up and birds started singing when the salesperson placed this incredible duo that reminds me of an old card holder from the 1940’s in my hands. I was sold. I didn’t even care about the price, even though it was expensive, I just had to have it.

The highlighting glow side is the most unique highlighter I’ve ever put on my face. It’s the best gold highlighter with little shimmer but a ton of glow. Even my girl, Emily Ratajkowski praised it on Into the Gloss once upon a time, so that’s how you know it’s great. Unlike Emrata, I love the contour side. It has more of an orange undertone like a bronzer but doesn’t come off bronzey at all. It’s the best for creating or enhancing the cheekbones God gave you (or forgot to give you- soz). It has a slight shimmer too but I’ve never had those tragic issues of my contour looking muddy from this. We’ve been going on three years with my Filmstar and all I have to show for that is the giant pan spot in the Glow side.

Hollywood Flawless Filter

It’s the year 2018, we’re still glowing like ambient lit light bulbs in a nice restaurant and then, Charlotte Tilbury brings out another product that really gives the skin that filter-like look we all wish we were born with. My close friend, Indi, mega babe and Charlotte Tilbury make up artist, debuted this first at a class for work and I instantly knew I needed this for myself. Fast forward to end of May when I got my own Flawless Filter.

I love to wear this mostly underneath my foundation to have that real ‘lit from within’ glow going on. I’ve also been known to pop it on my cheekbones and blend it out with my Real Techniques sponge. I wore it the other day mixed with my Fenty foundation and one of the reps from another makeup brand complimented me. Bless you Charlotte Tilbury, what would I do without you?

Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk

Following in the footsteps of the best selling Pillow Talk lip liner, Charlotte Tilbury took that success and put it into a lipstick. Now, I don’t use lip liners. I don’t need them ever nor do I feel like they’re totally necessary. However, when I tried the lipstick form of this liner in London in December, I fell in love. We love a pinky nude lipstick around here! Something that looks like my lips but better? SOLD.

Pillow Talk is the most reviewed lipstick on Charlotte Tilbury’s website and I would say it lives up to the hype. I went through half of this lipstick in a couple months and now it’s really close to being finished, as you can see above. This is my ride or die matte lipstick forever because of how comfortable it is on my lips and the color is exactly that ‘your lips but better’ vibe we’re all looking for.

I’ve really been around the make up counter with Charlotte Tilbury’s products in the past three years. Her Magic Foundation is that medium-full coverage that just makes your skin look better than when you first started. Light Wonder isn’t for the oily ones out there but it would do wonders on dry to normal skin types, giving you a healthy glowing complexion that you only thought happened in your dreams. Similar to Light Wonder, Wonder Glow primer has that amazing flexibility to prime and also achieve a glowy base. It’s fab for wearing under foundation or even mixed in to amp up a more radiant complexion. I fell in love with the original Legendary Lashes mascara for the blackest notice me lashes but it’s been upgraded to Volume 2 this past spring. I haven’t tried it out...but I’m sure I will before the year’s up! I’ve dabbled in her skincare too but some of it is too rich for my skin....feel free to message me about this one if you really want to know more! The iconic Eyes to Mesmerize is the ultimate cream shadow made easy, giving you the signature Hollywood glam eyes that made you look like you worked really hard when you didn’t at all.

If you’re still here, thanks for tuning in to another heartfelt anecdote about my love for another make up brand. You really can’t go wrong with anything from Charlotte’s collection but the big three up above are going to be my go to’s forever.
